Salon Shortlist is run by HAIR WHIZZ LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 12192511. Registered office: 34 Beech Close, Huntingdon, PE29 7BA. We decide how the information on this site is used (we are the data controller). Questions or requests: contact@salonshortlist.com.
Salon Shortlist lists hairdressers, barbers, nail salons, beauty salons and massage places so people can choose one. For each business we show its name, address, location, website, services, opening hours and facts such as online booking, prices and parking. This comes from public sources only: the business's own website, OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps Foundation. Some businesses are run by one person under their own name, so a listing can contain a person's name. We use this information on the basis of legitimate interests: helping people find a salon, using information the business has made public. We do not use reviews, photos or personal social media profiles.
If you run a listed business you can ask us to correct your details, to see what we hold about you, or to remove your listing. Use the "Correct or remove this listing" button on your salon's page or email contact@salonshortlist.com. We act on requests without asking you to create an account.
We do not ask you to sign up, and the site does not set cookies or use advertising or tracking tools. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) for a short time to run the site securely. Some parts of a page load content from other services, which then see your IP address:
• Maps: map pictures come from OpenStreetMap and the map code from cdnjs (Cloudflare).
• Postcode search: when you type a postcode on the home page, it is sent to postcodes.io to find its location. We do not store it.
• "Use my location": your browser asks for permission first; the location is used in your browser only to pick the nearest city and is not sent to us.
• Google: the "Google map and reviews" button on a salon page opens Google Maps, or shows a Google map inside the page. Google's own privacy policy applies to that.
Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of information about you, and you can object to how we use it. Email contact@salonshortlist.com. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Data comes from public salon websites and open map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and Overture Maps Foundation. "No data" means the salon's site does not say, not that the answer is no. Salons are sorted by profile completeness (how much we could verify), not by quality. No salon pays to be listed.
